Coin collecting can be a great hobby or a life long career. Either way, collecting coins provides some very interesting challenges such as, finally getting that coin you've been searching for or selling your collection for a profit.

This hobby is for every one, especially kids, as a lot can be learned about coins and their history. Math skills also come into play along with developing good organizational habits. I started when I was a kid looking through my paper route change, then I bought some coins online and have been growing it ever since.

There are many different areas of coin collecting. When first starting out, determining what area of collecting you want to go into is an important decision to make. World coins, US coins, Canadian coins, ancient coins and commemorative coins are just some of the different areas you can focus you efforts on.

The first step in determining this, is to get a good coin book and read it over from cover to cover. Inside a good coin ebook, you should be able to read about all aspects of coin collecting. Generally touching on all topics of collecting, a good ebook should be able to help you form an objective opinion and decision about which area to pursue.

Learning about where to get your coins and what to pay for them all comes with good information and as you get better and more experienced at this, you can take your collecting to the next level and make better decisions about your growing collection.

So if your looking for a fun and interesting hobby for yourself or for your children to get involved with, try collecting coins. You may already have a few gems in your pocket as you rerad this.

Hi there Connor and thanks.

I think for any one who is interested in collecting coins, other than good material to learn from, the next best thing to do is to join a coin club, or a group of dedicated coin enthusiasts, to learn from.

And for any parents reading this, collecting coins, or stamps for that matter is a great way to grow your kids interest in history, math and good organizational skills.

Thanks
